Expert emergency care close to home
All our physicians are board certified in emergency medicine, something not commonly found in communities this size.
In addition, all nurses are certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). This certification allows nurses to treat respiratory failure, shock, cardiac arrest and irregular heartbeats. Several nurses on staff are also certified sexual assault examiners.
Thanks to established relationships with regional trauma centers, critical patient transfers proceed quickly and smoothly, via ambulance or helicopter.
Emergency medical technicians use electrocardiograms to wirelessly transmit data ahead of the patient's arrival at the hospital to our heart and vascular care team. That means our catheterization lab and healthcare team can prepare for an immediate response. Learn more about our heart and vascular care.
Other lifesaving technology in our Emergency Department includes:
- Cardiac monitoring systems
- Portable imaging equipment
- Multiple trauma and triage rooms
- Intermediate care stations
- High-tech exam rooms
- State-of-the-art ambulance bay
- Decontamination room for patients involved in industrial accidents and chemical spills
