Gratefulness and generosity fill the Alice A. and Rex Martin Infusion Center
The spirit of gratefulness and generosity inspired the Martin family to give towards creating a new infusion center at Goshen Center for Cancer Care. On Monday, September 17 the grand opening of the Alice A. and Rex Martin Infusion Center called for moments of reflection as the expansion was dedicated and celebrated throughout the day. The donating family, NIBCO representatives, Goshen Health Colleagues and public all spoke to their appreciation for this community and the members who help make it a better place to live.
“Philanthropists Alice and Rex, and their family, have done yet another great thing for this region. And what’s great for this broader community is even greater for the individuals who need the infusion center services. At that time, it’s their whole world,” remarked Jim Caskey, VP of the Goshen Health Foundation during Monday’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. “Our Colleagues are now able to offer those services in greater ways from this day forward thanks to this incredible gift!”
“What the Rex and Alice A. Martin Foundation has given to our patients far exceeds any dollar amount,” stated Randy Christophel, President & CEO of Goshen Health. “Privacy, support, care and compassion delivered in a state-of-the-art environment at a time when patients need it most. The entire Goshen Health family stands humbled and grateful for the Martin’s generosity.”
The day concluded with a public open house for community members. Infusion center nurses guided attendees through the new space and highlighted key elements designed to allow patients to customize their bay through lighting, sound, temperature and entertainment options. The outpatient infusion center is now open to service both cancer and non-cancer patients.
