Ashley Scott, MD, joins Goshen Physicians OB/GYN

Ashley Scott, MD, recently joined the team of obstetricians and gynecologists at Goshen Physicians OB/GYN. She provides specialized care for women of all ages. Services she provides include preventive screenings and assessments and well woman care. She is also trained in family planning and routine pregnancy care.

Irina Sparks, Radiation Oncologist, joined Goshen Center for Cancer Care

Irina Sparks, MD, recently joined the team of oncologists at Goshen Center for Cancer Care after completing her radiation oncology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. She treats a wide range of cancers and some benign tumors, and has a special interest in advanced and highly targeted radiation techniques such as High Dose Rate Brachytherapy (DHR), Stereotactic Body Radiation (SBRT) and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS).

Learn how to prepare your child for being a sibling on Saturday, October 6, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Goshen Hospital in the Birch/Walnut room. This class helps expecting families and soon-to-be siblings, ages two-10 years old, prepare to welcome a newborn into the family.

New Medical Director named at Goshen Center for Cancer Care

Leonard Henry, MD, MBA, FACS, has been appointed Medical Director for Goshen Center for Cancer Care. His responsibilities include developing clinical programs and services and recruiting providers. Dr. Henry will continue his clinical practice in surgical oncology.

Be prepared for flu season

Come find out how to lower your chance of getting sick this flu season and boost your immune system at a free meeting at Goshen Greencroft Community Center, 1820 Greencroft Blvd. The meeting, offered by Goshen Health’s Thrive series on health and wellness, will be on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

Goshen Hospice seeks volunteers to spend time with patients

Goshen Hospice is hosting a hospice volunteer training series during the month of October. The training includes a special emphasis on working with veteran patients, in addition to hospice philosophy, communication skills, emotional, spiritual and physical aspects of dying, family dynamics and grief.

Gratefulness and generosity fill the Alice A. and Rex Martin Infusion Center

The spirit of gratefulness and generosity inspired the Martin family to give towards creating a new infusion center at Goshen Center for Cancer Care. On Monday, September 17 the grand opening of the Alice A. and Rex Martin Infusion Center called for moments of reflection as the expansion was dedicated and celebrated throughout the day.

Goshen Health now offers YoMingo eClasses, a convenient online childbirth preparation eClass, in addition to a shortened one or two day live childbirth class for busy expecting parents.

Goshen Health Joins Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™

This week Goshen Health announced the implementation of a nurse residency program based on the Vizient and American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Nurse Residency Program TM. The program is designed to ease the transition of newly graduated nurses from the classroom setting to the clinical practice environment to promote quality, safety and reduce turnover rates for first-year nurses.
