COVID-19 vaccines available to elderly starting January 8

January 6, 2021

As recently announced by Governor Holcomb, effective Friday, January 8, COVID-19 vaccines will be available to those 80 years or older. As soon as the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) publishes the registration link on Friday, vaccine appointments will be available through Goshen Health at the Goshen Physicians Family Medicine Lincoln Ave location – 400 W. Lincoln Ave, Goshen, IN 46526.

“We are so pleased that in addition to healthcare workers, we now are able to vaccinate those 80 years or older,” said Randy Christophel, President and CEO of Goshen Health. “We look forward to expanding availability to additional age groups in the near future.”

Online registration is required to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment. The ISDH registration link will also be available on GoshenHealth.com.

“The COVID-19 vaccine is our best chance to stop harm from the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This virus can have serious, life-threatening complications and there is no way to know in advance how it will affect you, your friends or your loved ones. With a 94 to 95% effective rate, the vaccine is the safest way to build protection for all,” said Dr. Dan Nafziger, Goshen Hospital Chief Medical Officer and Infectious Disease Specialist.

To learn more about the vaccine, review Dr. Nafziger’s video presentation at
