GOSHEN, Ind. – Cardiac Rehabilitation Department of Goshen Heart & Vascular Center is planning heart healthy snacks on Monday, a trivia contest Wednesday and an exercise fundraiser Friday to raise funds for patients who may otherwise have trouble affording access to the exercise facility.
Cardiac rehabilitation plays a crucial role in reducing the potentially devastating effects of heart disease and improving quality of life for patients and their families. To celebrate the life-saving impact of cardiac rehabilitation, the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation declared February 10 to 16 National Cardiac Rehabilitation Week.
In addition to traditional cardiac rehabilitation, Goshen Heart & Vascular Center’s Cardiac Rehabilitation offers Dr. Ornish’s Program for Reversing Heart Disease. This unique, non-invasive approach to reverse cardiac disease is commonly known as Ornish Lifestyle Medicine™. Cardiac rehabilitation is covered by most insurance and Medicare for people who are eligible.
