GOSHEN, Ind.– Join Goshen Health at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds on Friday, April 28, 2017 for a free event from 4:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., featuring tours of the inflatable MEGA Body and MEGA Lungs. Goshen Health Colleagues will be on site to answer questions. Visitors will discover two interactive and unique exhibits that allow you to step inside the human body. While touring the MEGA Body and MEGA Lungs inflatables, you will learn about the different structures and bodily functions. You will also understand how healthy lifestyle choices can prevent common diseases.
This event was made possible in part by a grant from the Community Foundation of Elkhart County. Community partners also include Purdue Extension of Elkhart County, ETHOS Science Center, Elkhart County Health Department and Goshen College.
Nelson’s Chicken will be sold the day of the event from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., first come first served.
Free screenings and assessments offered at the event are listed below and are first come first served:
- Blood pressure, pulse and blood oxygen levels
- Body composition analysis
- Bone density heel scan
- Carbon monoxide check
- Children’s height and weight check
- Diabetes risk assessment (adult and children)
- Diabetic neuropathy foot screening
- Echocardiogram screening
- Fitness endurance test
- Malnutrition screening
- Skin cancer risk screening
- Sleep apnea screening
- Vascular leg screenings for arterial disease
