GOSHEN, Ind. – Melissa Larson, MSN, RN, FNP-C, has joined Goshen Physicians Gastroenterology as a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She manages care for patients with a range of stomach and digestive disorders.
“We’re pleased to expand access to care for patients who suffer with acid reflux disease, Crohn’s disease, gastric ulcers and other gastrointestinal disorders,” said Randy Christophel, Goshen Health President and Chief Executive Officer.
Larson is trained to assist in surgical procedures and holds a certification in conscious sedation. She has provided patient care in hospital-based and outpatient surgical units in the region. While earning her master’s degree in nursing, Larson coordinated care for patients who underwent endoscopic procedures at Goshen Hospital.
A registered nurse since 2010, Larson takes a holistic approach to health care. She helps patients take an active role in their medical decision-making process. By managing their health and well-being, Larson also believes her patients can improve their quality of life.
Years of nursing experience caring for endoscopic patients have given Larson a strong interest in stomach and digestive disorders. She is particularly focused on conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease and colonoscopy screenings.
Larson received her Master of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Goshen College in Goshen, IN.
