Goshen Health dishes out fun ways to learn about healthy eating at summer programs

June 8, 2021

A Summer Health Lunch Bunch program led by Goshen Health is teaching kids about food choices that taste good and are good for you. The free program provides hands-on nutrition activities and education to students and families who participate in the USDA summer meal programs.

Goshen Health sponsors the program in partnership with three school systems and seven community organizations in Elkhart and Kosciusko Counties. Volunteers will be at Lunch Bunch sites to provide activities and giveaways from June 1 to July 30, 2021.

"We are honored to have community partners join us in helping children learn about health and nutrition," said Randy Christophel, Goshen Health President and Chief Executive Officer. "Collaborations like the Lunch Bunch program have a significant impact on the health of our community."

More than 1,100 students under age 18 have participated in the Summer Health Lunch Bunch program since Goshen Health started it in 2018.
