Local schools are running the halls for exercise

February 27, 2018

GOSHEN, Ind. – Goshen Health is offering schools a free and fun program that gives students the opportunity to run their school’s hallways for exercise. Research has demonstrated that after-school programs for children like Run the Halls provide opportunities for extracurricular physical activity that can improve obesity-related outcomes.

Randy Christophel, president and CEO of Goshen Health, said, “Think of how excited students will be when they hear they’ll get to run in the halls – without getting in trouble!”

Run the Halls is a simple, easy-to-follow school program that helps students increase their daily physical activity. Best of all, the program is free and all supplies are provided to the schools. Encourage your school to apply to host a Run the Halls club. Local schools currently participating in the program include Mary Daly, Riverview, Milford, Middlebury and Jefferson Elementary.

If you are interested in learning more about how your school can participate, call (574) 364-2904 or email sbowers@goshenhealth.com for an application and more information.
