May 24, 2018

GOSHEN, Ind. – Mary Daly Elementary School has participated in Goshen Health’s Run the Halls program for the past 11 years. Run the Halls is a free and fun program that gives students the opportunity to run their school’s hallways for exercise.

This year at Mary Daly, 157 students participated in the Run the Halls program, completing a total of 3,998 miles with 60 students improving their run times. The Daly Run Club celebrated their success on May 3 with a spaghetti dinner sponsored by the Elkhart Community Foundation and a year-end running event they call The Daly Dash on May 5. Each runner who participated received a pedometer, purchased through a grant from the Elkhart Community Foundation.

Diana Duncan, the school nurse at Mary Daly said, “The Daly Run Club was very special to me and a great way to keep our kids active for the last 11 years.”

“The Daly Run Club is a great opportunity for our school to come together as a community – teachers, parents, and students all participate,” said Mary Daly principal Josh Nice. “It’s a great way to encourage one another and spend time together in a positive activity for the mind and body.”
