Days/hours:
Weekdays, 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. 

Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and their family members, 
- Assist with wheelchair transport (once you complete a brief competency test)
- Assist patients with the elevator
- Offer a knitted chemo cap, lap blanket or scarf
- Take photos of those completing their treatments ringing the bell 
- Provide mental health checks on patients and their families
- Offer support and engage in conversation with patients. 
- Organize puzzle area and have one available at all times.
- Wipe down wheelchairs and touch points (elevator buttons, chair arms, countertops, etc.) on main floor of the Center for Cancer Care, especially during cold and flu season

Days/hours: 
1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Temporary substitute on Monday's from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Responsibilities: (Located on second floor of the Heart and Vascular Center building on the hospital grounds)
- Welcome patients to the Heart & Vascular rehab area
- Wipe down exercise equipment
- Offer verbal support to patients striving to improve their heart health 
- Offer bottled water, encouragement and re-stock supplies as needed

Days/hours: 
Items are created at individual’s homes and then delivered to the hospital.  Volunteers receive credit for the hours they contribute.

Responsibilities:
- If you knit, crochet, sew or do woodworking projects, we accept donations of:

• baby hats
• blankets
• puppy pillows
• scarves
• chemo hats
• chemo lap blankets
• prayer shawls, etc. (to distribute to patients)
• wooden toys (to distribute to children in the ED, Lab, Imaging or accompanying a patient in the Main Lobby.)

Days/hours:
Monday or Tuesday 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Responsibilities: (Located on the 2nd floor of the hospital.)
- Serve as a communication liaison between patients, their families and Day Surgery Colleagues
- Provide other services that assist Colleagues and patients within Day Surgery.
- Stock department supplies
- Assist with room turnover
- Run errands as requested
- Take items to other departments
- Transport patients or guests via wheelchair
- Change linens
- Fill blanket warmer
- Other duties if able and willing to execute. 

Days/hours: 

Tuesday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Wednesday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities: (Located on main floor of the hospital in the Emergency Department)
- Tend to the needs of families by checking in with them as they wait for the patient
- Assist patients with meal selection and ordering, then remove the meal tray and note intake amount(s)
- Escort and transport patients and family members as needed
- Restock department supplies
- Take specimens to lab area
- Run errands and assist with clerical duties as requested
- Empty linen hamper, replacing yellow “dirty linen” bag
- Assist with cleaning rooms to provide quick turnaround

Days/hours: 
Weekdays 11:15 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Responsibilities: (Located on main floor of the hospital - common dining areas in the cafeteria and coffee shop only)
- Help direct guests to the main elevators or Imaging Department
- Wipe down tables and the condiment counter
- Straighten chairs at dining tables
- Notify Colleagues when the trash is full
- Refill napkin and cutlery dispensers
- Throw away trash not discarded by guests

Responsibilities: (Located on the main floor of the hospital)
- Days and hours vary. Please call the Gift Shop Manager at (574) 364-1072 to discuss days, shift times and responsibilities.

Days/hours:
7 days per week, 3 to 4 hour shifts available 8 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Responsibilities: (Located on floors 2, 3 and 4)
- Assist with stocking department supplies on various floors
- Clean the blanket warmer
- Empty linen hampers
- Refill patient ice/water vessels
- Tend to the needs and comfort of the family by checking in with them
- Assist patients with lunch menu selection and ordering
- Remove meal trays from room
- Escort patients as necessary
- Assist with cleaning rooms
- Offer young patients and guests a comfort item
- Tidy up waiting areas and nutritional spaces. 

Days/hours: 
Weekdays 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities: (Located in the lab on the main floor of the hospital)
- Assist Lab Colleagues with courier service to Day Surgery, ED or other locations
- Deliver specimens into the Lab
- Restock department supplies
- Prepare wet mount kits
- Highlight blood bank books
- Assist the department with ongoing projects as needed 

Days/hours: 
Weekdays, any time from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (You and your certified dog may visit when it’s most convenient for you.)

Responsibilities: (Located in all areas except the ED, Birthplace, Lab, Radiology and Cafeteria / Kitchen)
- ONLY certified therapy dogs with proper documentation, including current immunization records may participate as a pet partner.
- Handler and certified canine may enter and visit patient floors and provide respite for Colleagues. 

Days/hours: 
Weekdays, any time from 8 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (most flexible volunteer option)

Responsibilities: (Located in the basement in the Materials Management stockroom)
- Assemble approximately 8 total pieces and parts for ‘blood draw kits’ for our lab area and package in individual bags.  

Note: This would be independent work with limited interaction with Goshen Health colleagues only. Or if you’re more social, we can always set you up with an “assembly line” at the Information Desk so you’re out and about with people more.

Days/hours: 
Monday, Tuesday (urgent need!) & Wednesday, anytime from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Responsibilities: (Located at the Orthopedic Rehab Office on Dorchester Court)
- Duties would primarily be greeting patients and encouraging them
- Cleaning rehabilitation / physical therapy equipment following patient use
- Folding laundry and restocking supplies.
- During down time, tidying up the lobby area and straightening the equipment and utility rooms. 

Days/hours: 
Varies according to need and your availability.

Responsibilities: (Located on patient floors and the Chapel)
- Sit with, visit and assess the patient’s situation.
- If patient and/or family seeks guidance from a Chaplain, our Spiritual Care Volunteer works to connect them.
- Depending on each situation, it may involve possibly providing spiritual support and prayer for patients, their family members and friends. 

Days/hours:
Weekdays 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Substitutes needed: Days and shift times will vary and you may be called weeks in advance or with only a day or two notice to fill in for Wayfinders who are on vacation or ill.

Responsibilities: (Located on the main floor of hospital, just inside the main lobby)
- Formerly known as Red Coats, this position is the face of Goshen Health and the first point of contact patients and guests have.
- Welcome patients and guests,
- Assist with wheelchair transportation,
- Distribute monitors returned from patients to either Cardio Pulmonary Services or Day Surgery,
- Escort guests to Imaging, patient rooms, meeting rooms, Medical Records and the Cafeteria.
- May occasionally (if comfortable) assist patients with the self-serve check-in kiosk or deliver flowers.
