Staying active can be a challenge for many families, particularly when exercise routines are disrupted.

Here are tips to help your family get moving again toward a healthy lifestyle.

Move your body

Did you know kids need at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day? For adults, 150 minutes of moderate activity a week – or 30 minutes most week days – make a difference in how you feel.

Our Being Active video explains how daily activity helps strengthen the heart, lungs, bones and muscles. You also can download activity sheets and resources to help you and your family stay active, gain energy and strengthen bodies.

Make time to play

Family activities – walks, bike rides, going to the park – deliver a big boost to a child's health. Choose appropriate activities for a child's age group that challenge them (and you) to learn something new.

Download activity sheets that offer games, challenges and activities that keep kids moving toward a healthy lifestyle.
