Philosophy of Care
Dr. Berger believes that expert quality health care involves determining how all aspects of a patient's life are impacting his or her health so that appropriate testing and treatment can then be rendered and unnecessary treatment and testing avoided.
Dr. Berger has a keen interest in investigating how diet, exercise and weight control can impact our society's common chronic health problems including diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, and emotional health. He devotes a significant amount of time to educating his patients on how they can take control of their diet, weight and exercise regimen and more effectively manage their health in partnership with their health care providers. He also has an interest in population health management and how effective population health management can improve outcomes for the community in general as well as individuals. Dr. Berger has put that into action by providing care in Get Fit Get Healthy’s onsite Health and Wellness clinic program with the Goshen School System on a weekly basis. He is also working with Goshen Health on implementing changes required to improve scores with our accountable care organization.
