    Daniel J. Berger is a board certified primary care physician at Goshen Physicians Family Medicine Bristol. Dr. Berger graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine, attended residency at Oklahoma University, practiced 5 years in Oklahoma, and then returned to family and friends in northern Indiana where he has practiced the last 14 years.

    For more than 14 years he has demonstrated his commitment to bringing quality care and service to the community by taking on leadership roles through chairing several committees at Goshen Health before serving a term as president of the medical staff, serving a term as president for Goshen Physicians and having been a member of Bashor Children’s Home Board of Directors. He continues to serve Bashor Children’s Home as the medical physician.

    Philosophy of Care

    Dr. Berger believes that expert quality health care involves determining how all aspects of a patient’s life are impacting his or her health so that appropriate testing and treatment can then be provided and unnecessary treatment and testing avoided.

    Clinical Interest

    Dr. Berger has a keen interest in investigating how diet, exercise and weight control can impact our society’s common chronic health problems including diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia and emotional health. He devotes a significant amount of time to educating his patients on how they can take control of their diet, weight and exercise regimen and more effectively manage their health in partnership with their healthcare providers.

    He also has an interest in population health management and how effective population health management can improve outcomes for the community in general as well as individuals. Dr. Berger has put that into action by providing care in Get Fit Get Healthy’s onsite Health and Wellness Clinic with the Goshen School System on a weekly basis. He is also working with Goshen Health on implementing changes required to improve scores with our accountable care organization.

    Biography

    Kylee Rohatgi is a board certified family nurse practitioner at Goshen Physicians Family Medicine & Urgent Care. She treats patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly and everyone in between. Whether treating an infection or managing a chronic condition, Kylee takes a team-based approach to deliver high quality care with the best possible outcomes.

    Previous nursing experiences in cardiac medicine and surgery as well as endoscopic procedures have given Kylee a broad understanding of disease processes and patient care. She also has helped advance future leaders in nursing as an assistant professor in nursing at Goshen College.

    When Kylee is away from her clinical role, she enjoys traveling, reading, sports, music and spending time with family and friends.

    Kylee believes educating patients about their health and wellbeing is a vital part of health care. She focuses on working with patients and their families to provide complete, compassionate care.

    Biography

    Mackenzie Shireman, MSN, RN, FNP-C, CCRN, is a certified family nurse practitioner with Goshen Physicians. She provides routine exams and preventive care for patients of all ages. Mackenzie also treats patients with acute illnesses and helps manage chronic conditions. Her training and education have given Mackenzie broad experience in critical care, obstetrics, pediatric care and urgent care.

    Philosophy of Care

    Patient care is a team effort for Mackenzie. She is dedicated to building a strong rapport with patients to help them achieve their healthiest state. Mackenzie believes that recognizing each patient’s unique qualities contributes to appropriate management and positive outcomes.

    Clinical Interest

    Mackenzie holds special interest in providing comprehensive women’s health examinations, including contraceptive counseling, family planning, initial prenatal counseling and peri/ post-menopausal care. She also focuses on risk reduction and management of chronic diseases.
