Angie Mattern is a board certified family nurse practitioner at Goshen Physicians Keystone. Prior to her becoming a nurse practitioner, she worked as a registered nurse in family practice, emergency and mental health. Angie’s focus is health promotion and disease prevention through evidence based practice.
She aims to develop a practice with a focus on health maintenance, risk reduction and disease prevention. She works to improve the health of the community by organizing and participating in community outreach programs that educate patients through events such as health fairs, diabetic screenings, pap-a-thons, immunization clinics, etc. She also participates in foreign and local medical mission programs providing quality care to the underserved populations.
Philosophy of Care
Angie enjoys developing relationships with patients and their families to provide an individualized plan of care. She spends quality time with her patients to understand their concerns and identify ways to provide them with exceptional care. Angie is passionate about preventive care and therefore provides screening assessments and education to all of her patients on a regular basis. She believes in a holistic approach to health care that addresses emotional, physical, social and spiritual care. The goal of her practice is to provide integrated patient care in the family practice setting, to empower the individual to achieve wellness.
Family practice is the perfect fit for Angie’s wide range of interests. She focuses on all aspects of primary care medicine and is most interested in providing the highest level of care in collaboration with other specialists to people in the local community. She is passionate about women’s health issues, empowering women to maintain healthy lifestyles and providing comprehensive pediatric care. Angie has also spent time working with pediatricians who specialize in screening and managing attention deficit disorder and anxiety within the pediatric population.
