What to expect

Your duplex ultrasound will happen in our hospital where a specially trained ultrasound technician will perform the procedure. After applying a gel, the technician will move the ultrasound probe on your neck that’ll produce live images of the blood flow in your arteries. The results will be shared with your care team shortly afterwards so any treatment can promptly begin.

Duplex ultrasonography, including carotid ultrasound, is an outpatient procedure, meaning you’ll be able to go home on the same day of your appointment.
