Nuclear medicine imaging

Noninvasive nuclear medicine imaging procedures use small amounts of radioactive materials to produce precise pictures of the imaged part of the body that doctors use to diagnose and evaluate medical conditions. We use nuclear medicine studies for cardiac stress tests and to scan parts of the body, including bone, thyroid, renal, gall bladder, lung and other organs, as well as for infection scans.

We also use nuclear medicine for therapeutic procedures to treat certain types of cancer and medical conditions that affect the thyroid gland.
