Clinical nursing research

Clinical nursing research adds to the body of nursing knowledge and provides current evidence to improve care. Nurses at Goshen Health conduct original nursing research, increasing knowledge and enabling the development of best practices based on scientific evidence. Our nursing team leads and participates in nursing research to increase the quality of nursing within our hospital and beyond.

Nursing research vision

Our nursing vision is to be nationally acclaimed for innovative, outstanding, scholarly nursing practice that is grounded in our values. Nursing research efforts build upon the Goshen Health mission of providing innovative, outstanding care and services, through exceptional people doing exceptional work.

Evidence-based nursing practice

Our Nursing Research Advisory Committee (NRAC) is part of our nursing professional governance structure. NRAC serves to infuse a spirit of inquiry and engage all nursing Colleagues in the integration of evidence-based practice into the foundation of nursing care. Members of the committee serve as a scholarly resource for evidence-based practice, innovation and research.

Evidence-based practice (EBP) provides our patients and families with the most current nursing interventions. The goal of EBP in nursing is to promote improved interventions, care and patient outcomes. Many of our best practices originate with a single nurse, collaboration with Colleagues and dedication to see a concept through. Our registered nurses lead and participate in evidence-based practice projects as a continuous part of their professional development.
