Orthopedics & Sports Medicine
On-site athletic trainers keep young athletes in the game
We know you want to keep your student athlete safe and injury-free on the playing field or court. That's why certified athletic trainers at Goshen Physicians Orthopedics & Sports Medicine are an important part of community school athletic programs in our area. Essentially, our trainers are your frontline healthcare workers for student athletics. They often are the first point of contact for student athlete care.
Safety, prevention and education are at the center of our athletic training program. Student athletes at every level of play learn how to reduce sports injuries, recover safely and return to activities they enjoy.
Rooted in compassionate care, our team of athletic trainers and sports medicine providers care about our student athletes just as much as the parents sitting on the sidelines. We want to do everything we can to help student athletes achieve their dreams and aspirations.
Services on and off the field or court
At the core of our approach to care is an emphasis on sports performance, nutrition, injury care and concussion management. Our trainers also go beyond physical condition to consider mental and emotional aspects of an injured student athlete.
Injury prevention begins with healthy lifestyle behaviors to minimize the risk of injury or illness and maintain health and well-being.
Assessment and diagnosis lead to a plan of care to help the healing process and restore normal function after injury.
On-site care allows for immediate response to serious injuries or illness, including concussion, spine injury, heat stroke, asthma attack or diabetic emergency.
Rehabilitation therapies restore normal function through therapeutic exercise, manual techniques and modality devices.
Advocacy and collaboration help bridge the gap between students, parents, doctors, coaches and school administrators.
Integrated approach to care
Our athletic trainers work closely with our orthopedic and sports medicine team to provide treatment and build rehabilitation programs for a full range of sports injuries:
