Orthopedics & Sports Medicine

Orthopedic Nurse Practitioners

Our nurse practitioners make a big difference in your care at Goshen Physicians Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. These board certified providers are fully qualified and trained to order tests, diagnose, treat and prescribe, based on your specific health needs.

Nurse practitioners work alongside our doctors every day. They collect important information about you and your medical history to make sure your care team has everything needed to diagnose and treat a problem.

If you need surgery, our nurse practitioners assist our surgeons in the operating room. They also provide follow-up care and make sure you have everything you need during your recovery.

Education is a part of our nurse practitioners' responsibilities. They can answer your questions about your treatment plan and explain what to expect before, during or after surgery.

What to expect from nurse practitioners

Professional training. Every nurse practitioner is a registered nurse prior to earning a master's degree in nursing. They are certified by professional nursing organizations and licensed to provide care in Indiana. Also, some nurse practitioners continue their education and receive a doctorate degree in nursing.

Specialized care. Orthopedic nurse practitioners are trained to provide specialized care, whether you have a recent injury, nagging arthritis or joint pain that sidelines you from everyday activities.

Wellness focus. Nurse practitioners focus on health promotion, education, counseling and disease prevention. That’s why a nurse practitioner can assist you in making smart health and lifestyle choices.

Coordinated care. Nurse practitioners are licensed to prescribe and coordinate the health care you need when you need it. You can rely on a nurse practitioner to provide high quality care for your personal health concerns.
