Providers' Quick Guide
Procedures and treatments
We also offer the following advanced diagnostic procedures and treatments:
- Botox and nerve block procedures
- Electrodiagnostic tests
- Infusion services
- Lab services
- MRI Imaging services
Electrodiagnostics
An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test that detects electrical activity in the patient’s brain using small electrodes attached to the scalp. An EEG can determine changes in brain activity that may be useful in diagnosing brain disorders, especially epilepsy.
Electrodiagnostic (EDX) testing is a two-part evaluation which includes:
- Electromyography (EMG) for checking muscle health
- Nerve conduction studies (NCV) for checking nerve health
EDX studies can determine damage to nerve and/or muscle causing weakness, numbness and pain. For additional information on EMGs, visit the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine at
www.aanem.org.
Infusion services
Infusion therapy is the delivery of drugs directly into the bloodstream via a vein. This intravenous (IV) therapy has become an effective strategy in treating and managing neurological disorders, such as multiple sclerosis.
MRI imaging
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a key component in evaluating patients with neurologic signs or symptoms attributable to the central nervous system. This advanced imaging allows us to diagnose the most complex cases faster and more efficiently.
