Sleep Disorders

Trouble sleeping? Take a sleep disorder questionnaire

A sleep disorder risk assessment is a quick way to evaluate your sleep. It can reveal problems with your sleep patterns and practices. While risk assessments don’t diagnose sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea, they help our team at Goshen Sleep Disorders Center identify who needs additional testing and provide the right care.

We understand that getting good sleep is essential to your quality of life. That’s why we offer a free sleep disorder questionnaire in Goshen, IN. Find an event online to register or call (877) 566-4660 for questions.

If your risk assessment results indicate you’re at risk of having a sleep disorder, your primary care provider may refer you to Goshen Sleep Disorders Center for treatment from a board certified sleep specialist.

Why you may need sleep help

Quality sleep is vital to both your physical and mental health. Unfortunately, sleep disorders are a common problem in the U.S. People are often unaware they have a sleep disorder, especially with sleep apnea. This can lead to unexplained daytime sleepiness, headaches and difficulty concentrating. Our assessments evaluate your risk or likelihood of having a sleep disorder. It’s the first step in diagnosing the underlying problem.

There may be a more serious cause of your sleep problem, such as anxiety, depression, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes or chronic pain. Medications can also cause sleep disturbances.

What to expect from a sleep disorder or sleep apnea risk assessment

When you come to Goshen Sleep Disorders Center for your sleep disorder risk assessment, it includes:

  • A sleep questionnaire about your symptoms, how sleepy you are at different times of the day and sleep habits
  • A review of your risk assessment results
  • Guidelines for better sleep
  • Facts about obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)

Some assessments include blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) measurements. The assessment takes about 20 minutes. Screenings are done on a first-come, first-served basis during the event hours.

If you have sleep disorder risks, our board certified sleep specialists can help you take the next steps. We may ask you to record your sleep habits, as well as caffeine and alcohol use, exercise and naps. Our team can help you get to the root of the problem and find relief.
