The Birthplace – designed around you

Our designation as a Blue Distinction Center by Blue Cross Blue Shield Association recognizes our expertise and comprehensive, high quality approach to maternity care at Goshen Hospital. Blue Distinction means facilities like ours meet specific national quality standards, unlike facilities without this recognition.

To earn this designation, our hospital has demonstrated overall patient satisfaction, including a willingness to recommend our hospital to others. We also offer breastfeeding programs as part of our Baby-Friendly Hospital initiative with Baby-Friendly USA.

The Blue Distinction Center program recognizes facilities that deliver quality specialty care safely and effectively. Criteria are based on objective measures developed with input from the medical community.

Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative

Our Baby-Friendly designation is more than just a name. It means you are surrounded by the kind of health care that's essential for your baby's healthy start in life.

Goshen Hospital is recognized by the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative for the optimal level of care we offer mothers and their babies. Our baby-friendly status certifies that we provide breastfeeding mothers with the information, confidence and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies.

The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative is a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children's Fund. It recognizes hospitals and birthing facilities that have completed a 10-step process to establish policies and practices that encourage parents to make informed choices about how they feed and care for their babies.
