Chronic Bronchitis
General Information
When the main airways of your lungs, your bronchi, are swollen or inflamed, it’s called bronchitis. Bronchitis can be chronic or acute, with chronic bronchitis lasting at least three months.
Chronic bronchitis symptoms include wheezing, coughing (with mucus) and chest tightness or discomfort. Part of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the primary cause of chronic bronchitis is smoking. It is also caused by breathing in dust, allergens, chemicals or other substances that irritate the lungs.
The Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Goshen Heart & Vascular Center offers complete care for chronic bronchitis. Our team of experts strives to create a healthier community by providing advanced heart and vascular care.
If you’ve noticed symptoms of chronic bronchitis, talk to your primary care provider and take the first step toward healing. Or, if you want to talk to someone at the Heart & Vascular Center, call (574) 533-7476 to make an appointment.
