Prostate Cancer
General Information

Prostate cancer symptoms
Early prostate cancer is usually found in a screening. If the cancer is advanced, you may notice these signs of prostate cancer:
- Changes in urination, including difficulty starting or the inability to urinate, weak or stop-and-start urine flow, and sudden urges to urinate
- Painful, burning or frequent urination
- Difficulty having an erection
- Blood in the urine or semen
- Back, hip or pelvic pain
See your doctor if you have these symptoms. Whether or not it’s cancer, an earlier diagnosis generally leads to a better treatment outcome.
Leading-edge treatment at Goshen Center for Cancer Care
If you have been diagnosed with prostate cancer, your doctor checks your prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels in your blood and runs other tests to see if the cancer has spread. This information along with the stage of your cancer and your personal preferences helps us create a treatment plan.
To treat prostate cancer, we offer prostate brachytherapy, which targets cancer cells in the prostate gland while causing minimal damage to nearby healthy tissue, and SpaceOAR/Hydrogel to protect the rectum during radiotherapy. If targeted radiation therapy is needed, we may be able to deliver through our state-of-the-art Ethos™ therapy that relies on artificial intelligence to create and adapt plans in minutes. This device is one of several we use to target cancer and preserve the surrounding healthy tissue. Our advanced treatments allow men to return to active and productive lives sooner with fewer complications.
Integrative therapies, such as nutrition therapy and naturopathic medicine, are always part of your treatment plan at our center. We also offer clinical trials for prostate cancer. Ask your doctor if a clinical trial is right for you.
If you need a screening, second opinion or a trusted treatment team, we are here to help.
