Severe or persistent vomiting causes
Not all causes of vomiting are serious – being nervous before a presentation or having a case of the stomach flu can make you nauseous. Some of the more serious causes of vomiting include:
- Food poisoning or food allergies
- Appendicitis
- Pregnancy
- Cancer treatment
- Intestinal blockage or gastroparesis
- Rotavirus or other serious viruses
- Ingestion of a poisonous substance – call 911 or poison control
