Vascular Disease

General Information

Stroke. Blood clots. Aneurysm. Emergencies caused by vascular disease can hit without warning. Each has the potential to leave you permanently disabled.

When a vascular emergency occurs, time and experience matter most. You need fast, expert care to help prevent serious injury or death. That's why our team of cardiologists, radiologists, surgeons and neurologists at Goshen Heart & Vascular Center works together to treat a variety of vascular diseases.

Causes of vascular disease

Your heart beats to pump blood through your system. That system carries blood and oxygen to every part of your body. When your blood vessels are diseased, your body doesn't get the blood it needs to keep your body functioning properly. Diseases of the arteries, veins and lymph vessels, as well as blood disorders that affect circulation, are considered vascular diseases.

Approximately 30 million Americans are at risk for vascular disease, which includes stroke, peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and aortic aneurysms.
