Amy Pointon, MSN, RN, CNS, FNP-BC, is a board certified family nurse practitioner at Goshen Physicians Gastroenterology. Starting out as an adult clinical nurse specialist with specialized training in diabetes management, Amy continued her education to become a board certified family nurse practitioner.
Philosophy of Care
Amy strives to offer a holistic approach to individualized patient care, encouraging her patients to be a part of the medical decision-making process in order to meet their unique healthcare needs. She believes education is an integral part of overall healthcare and pursues every opportunity she can to facilitate learning and provider-patient collaboration.
As a hospitalist nurse practitioner, Amy spent the last several years in hospital medicine, treating patients with complex illnesses. Amy also has experience in family practice and remains interested in providing wellness care while dedicating much of her time to the treatment of patients with chronic conditions. Amy is passionate about healthcare education and focuses on providing optimal learning conditions for the treatment of chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.
Amy continues to pursue more in-depth ways of understanding a variety of health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes and others and strives always to remain true to the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners that provides extensive guidelines for appropriate treatment. She is board certified through American Nurses Credentialing Center
