About

Biography

Dr. Charles Bower is a board certified diagnostic and interventional radiologist at Goshen Hospital. He specializes in providing diagnostic and interventional radiology services, primarily for patients with peripheral vascular disease, all types of cancer and end-stage renal disease. Dr. Bower performs a range of radiology services at Goshen Hospital. Before joining Goshen, Dr. Bower practiced in Chicago at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, and served as faculty of the University of Illinois Radiology Residency program since 2001. 

Dedicated to education, Dr. Bower is a volunteer assistant professor of radiology at Indiana University School of Medicine and a clinical assistant professor of radiology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago. Dr. Bower is a fellow of the American College of Radiology, an honor reserved for 10 percent of the membership of the college. In 2024, Dr. Bower was accepted as a dive medicine referral physician by Divers Alert Network (DAN), and is able to offer diving medical evaluations for fitness to dive.

Away from his medical practice, Dr. Bower combines interests in endurance sports, triathlon and scuba diving with his love of photography and videography. His enjoyment of music led to his serving on the board of organizations including the International Music Foundation that provides free concerts in downtown Chicago and another dedicated to the preservation of Philadelphia’s Wanamaker Organ.

Dr. Bower believes in a collaborative approach centered around the patient and family. In addition to working closely with a team of specialists to deliver the best care, he focuses on patient education. When patients understand their condition and options, they are better prepared to choose a treatment plan that fits their needs and preferences.
