Biography

Daniel A. Nafziger, MD, MS, is a board certified infectious disease physician who has been practicing as an infectious disease consultant in the community since 2002. In his previous roles, he served as health officer for the Elkhart County Health Department; medical director at Everence (formerly Mennonite Mutual Aid), Goshen; and medical director of hospital epidemiology at Henry Ford Hospital and later of patient safety in the Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, MI. Dr. Nafziger has delivered numerous presentations on infectious diseases and written extensively for books, journals and abstracts. 

As Hospital Chief Medical Officer for Goshen Health, Dr. Nafziger serves as a liaison between the medical staff and executive leadership, monitors patient safety and facilitates the delivery of high-quality care. He also supports the credentialing process, works with other medical staff leaders and provides expertise in the prevention of infections.
