Each Colleague’s orientation is tailored according to their individual needs and previous experience. All new nurses attend a combination of General and nursing orientation in the first week and is paired with a preceptor to complete the orientation process in their department of hire.
RN Residency Program
All newly licensed nurses participate in our 9-month RN Residency Program, designed to ease the transition from student to professional nurse while fostering confidence, competence, and community.
The program offers peer support, professional development, and hands-on learning through interactive simulations and case studies. Each nurse completes an evidence-based practice project, applying research to improve patient care.
Certification and Degree Advancement
As a Magnet-designated organization, we encourage and support nurses in achieving specialty certifications by covering the cost of the certification exam and celebrating their accomplishment. For nurses pursuing an advanced degree, our tuition assistance program helps you reach your professional goals.
Clinical Ladder
Our Clinical Ladder Program empowers nurses to grow professionally, earn recognition, and receive financial rewards for advancement.
Progression is based on experience, education, specialty certification, and completion of elective activities that foster ongoing professional development. This program celebrates achievement while encouraging nurses to reach their highest potential.
Student Nurse Opportunities
Goshen Hospital’s Patient Care Apprentice (PCA) and Patient Care Extern (PCE) programs, offered each summer, give nursing students hands-on experience to strengthen their skills and confidence as they prepare to become Registered Nurses.
PCAs work alongside nursing assistants to provide direct patient care, while PCEs partner with a dedicated RN preceptor for immersive clinical learning. These programs are designed to bridge classroom knowledge with real-world practice, setting the stage for a successful nursing career.
