    Biography

    Dr. Charles Bower is a board certified diagnostic and interventional radiologist at Goshen Hospital. He specializes in providing diagnostic and interventional radiology services, primarily for patients with peripheral vascular disease, all types of cancer and end-stage renal disease. Dr. Bower performs a range of radiology services at Goshen Hospital. Before joining Goshen, Dr. Bower practiced in Chicago at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, and served as faculty of the University of Illinois Radiology Residency program since 2001. 

    Dedicated to education, Dr. Bower is a volunteer assistant professor of radiology at Indiana University School of Medicine and a clinical assistant professor of radiology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago. Dr. Bower was awarded Fellowship in the American College of Radiology in 2021, an honor reserved for 10 percent of the membership of the college.

    Away from his medical practice, Dr. Bower combines interests in endurance sports, triathlon and scuba diving with his love of photography and videography. His enjoyment of music led to his serving on the board of organizations including the International Music Foundation that provides free concerts in downtown Chicago and another dedicated to the preservation of Philadelphia’s Wanamaker Organ.

    Dr. Bower believes in a collaborative approach centered around the patient and family. In addition to working closely with a team of specialists to deliver the best care, he focuses on patient education. When patients understand their condition and options, they are better prepared to choose a treatment plan that fits their needs and preferences.

    Nathaniel Dew, MD, FACS, has received advanced training in general and vascular surgery, allowing him to perform a wide range of surgical procedures. Dr. Dew is uniquely qualified to diagnose problems and recommend the most appropriate therapy, which may or may not include surgery, as a general surgeon. He may prescribe preventive steps to help patients maintain a healthy, active lifestyle without surgical intervention. If surgery is needed, Dr. Dew incorporates the most advanced techniques and approaches available, such as endoscopy and laparoscopy, to help improve outcomes while reducing stress on the patient.

    Biography

    Dr. Tom Etter is a general surgeon with Gerig Surgical Associates, P.C. He specializes in a variety of surgical procedures, including in robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery, vascular surgery, endoscopy and wound care.
     
    Dr. Etter treats patients of all ages, including children. His approach to care may include surgical and non-surgical therapies to help patients maintain their quality of life.

    Biography

    Djavid Hadian, MD, is a board certified cardiologist with fellowship training in cardiac electrophysiology (EP). He specializes in interventional techniques to manage cardiac arrhythmias and prevent sudden cardiac death. His expertise extends from complex EP studies to evaluate the electrical circuits in the heart to catheter ablation therapy to treat irregular heart rhythms.

    Dr. Hadian has kept hearts beating strong for patients in north central Indiana for more than a decade. His services include heart testing and maintenance of heart wellness as well as pacemaker and defibrillator implants and care.

    As a faculty member at Ohio State University, Dr. Hadian has trained other doctors in heart rhythm management and helped to advance the education of future leaders in cardiology.

    Farid Jalinous is a board certified clinical and interventional cardiologist with Goshen Heart & Vascular Center. He diagnoses and treats patients with cardiovascular disease, such as coronary artery disease, heart failure and atrial fibrillation. Dr. Jalinous performs noninvasive, invasive and interventional cardiovascular procedures to diagnose and treat heart disease.

    A cardiologist for more than 20 years, Dr. Jalinous has extensive experience with advanced, minimally invasive techniques to treat heart conditions. He focuses on catheterization procedures to diagnose heart disease; insert stents and balloons; and resolve restricted blood flow quickly for heart attack patients.

    Prior to joining Goshen Health in 2018, Dr. Jalinous served as a co-director of the catheterization lab for St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and was the clinical director of the cardiac rehabilitation program.

    Peers have rated Dr. Jalinous among the best in his specialty and in the community. The ratings have earned Dr. Jalinous the Regional Top Doctors award from Castle Connolly, a healthcare research company.

    Sreenivas Kamath, MD, FACC, FSCAI, is a board certified cardiologist with Goshen Heart & Vascular Center. He is fellowship trained in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology.
     
    Dr. Kamath specializes in nonsurgical techniques to diagnose and treat coronary artery disease, vascular disease, structural heart disease and congenital heart defects. He focuses on catheter-based procedures to repair damaged or weakened vessels, narrowed arteries or other affected parts of the heart.
     
    As clinical assistant professor at the Michigan State University (Lansing) and Western Michigan University Homer Stryker School of Medicine (Kalamazoo), Dr. Kamath has helped advance the education of future leaders in cardiology.

    Dr. Justin Lightburn is an Interventional Radiologist at Goshen Hospital where he performs vascular, non-vascular and interventional oncologic procedures. He serves as the Director of Interventional Radiology for Goshen Hospital.

    Dr. Lightburn specializes in endovascular and interventional oncology procedures. His endovascular procedures include common carotid artery stent placements, carotid ultrasounds, stenting, ablations and venography. He treats peripheral artery disease, vascular malformation, carotid artery disease, aortic aneurysm, cerebrovascular disease and venous insufficiency. His interventional oncology procedures include radioembolization of tumors, chemoembolization of tumors and percutaneous ablation of tumors.

    Blair MacPhail, MD, is an interventional cardiologist at Goshen Heart & Vascular Center. He has extensive experience in cardiology, with more than 25 years of caring for patients. As an interventional cardiologist, he takes care of general cardiology problems and peripheral vascular problems as well. He treats narrowed and blocked arteries by appropriately evaluating and removing clots from blocked arteries; using laser and atherectomy devices to open arteries; and strategically placing balloons and stents to stabilize and improve blood flow. Dr. MacPhail assesses and treats patients with coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease, hypertension and valvular and vascular heart disease. Dr. MacPhail worked as an interventional and staff cardiologist at Community Physician Network & Community Health Network, Kokomo and Indianapolis. He was the director of the cath lab at Indiana University Health Saxony in Fishers, IN. He served as an interventional cardiologist at Heart Partners of Indiana, LLC, and Indiana Heart Associates, PC in Indianapolis. He also worked as a research biochemist in the Recombinant DNA Program for Eli Lilly and Company, Indianapolis.

    Abrar Raza Sayeed, MD, specializes in cardiology at the Goshen Heart and Vascular Center. As a cardiologist, he provides both inpatient and outpatient care at the center. Dr. Sayeed performs many different tests and procedures to both diagnose and treat patients.

    Kim W. Kahler, MSN, ACNP-BC, is a nurse practitioner who provides care at Goshen Heart & Vascular Center. With over 20 years of nursing experience, he is completely devoted to his patients. Prior to joining Goshen Heart & Vascular Center, Kim worked as a nurse practitioner at Goshen Center for Cancer Care. He was also a nurse practitioner at the Nebraska Heart Institute and a medical oncology nurse practitioner at Great Plains Regional Medical Center, both in North Platte, NE. Throughout his career, Kim has served in several areas of nursing including emergency room, intensive care, cardiothoracic surgery and as a nursing coordinator. In addition to his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing, Kim also holds bachelor’s degrees in education and life science. Just as dedicated to his country as to his patients, Kim serves as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserves at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

    Jami K. Kamp, MSN, RN, FNP-BC, is a board certified family nurse practitioner with a wide variety of health care experience including acute care pediatrics, osteoporosis, interventional radiology and adult cardiology. She joined Goshen Heart & Vascular Center after beginning her nurse practitioner career in interventional radiology. As part of the cardiology team, Jami uses her advanced clinical assessment skills to diagnose and treat chronic and acute coronary and peripheral vascular disease. She evaluates patients’ needs and develops treatment plans for patients with chest pain, congestive heart failure, palpitations, high blood pressure, leg pain, arrhythmia and more.

    Nickie Ralston, cardiovascular nurse practitioner, provides comprehensive care for patients at Goshen Heart & Vascular Center. As a lifelong resident of Goshen, Nickie is dedicated to helping address the healthcare needs of the community. She promotes optimal health by educating her patients about how to prevent cardiovascular disease and manage chronic conditions, such as coronary artery disease, heart failure and atrial fibrillation. Nickie has advanced her critical thinking skills and treatment of chronic health conditions throughout her career, including two decades as a registered nurse in internal medicine and critical care.
