Goshen Health extends free Cultivate backpack meal program through August New Goshen distribution site announced
Thanks to a continued partnership between Goshen Health and Cultivate Food Rescue, local families will have additional opportunities to receive free nutritious meals this summer with the extension of the Cultivate backpack program through mid-August. Originally scheduled to conclude in July, the free meal distribution will now continue on the following Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. while supplies last:
- Wednesday, August 5
- Wednesday, August 12
The distribution will also move to a new, more accessible location at GoDance Studio, 233 S. Main St., Goshen (located at the corner of West Jefferson and Main Street).
The backpack meals include six frozen, nutritionally balanced meals, helping families bridge the weekend meal gap while children are out of school. Meals are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
“This partnership reflects what can happen when organizations come together with a shared commitment to supporting local families,” said Randy Christophel, President and Chief Executive Officer. “By joining the strengths of Goshen Health and Cultivate Food Rescue, we’re able to extend this important resource and help ensure more children have access to healthy meals throughout the summer.”
In June and July, the partnership distributed 848 backpacks containing 5,088 meals. For more information, please email CommunityEngagement@GoshenHealth.com.
