As a leading provider of innovative heart care, Goshen Heart & Vascular Center offers quality cardiac stress tests. We use stress tests (also known as a cardiac stress test, heart stress test or an exercise test) to understand how your heart responds to being pushed beyond a normal resting state.

Along with complete heart diagnostic services, including heart screenings, we offer the right services to keep you on top of your heart health. Ask your primary care provider about taking a treadmill stress test or call (574) 537-5000 for a referral.

Stress tests aren’t only used to diagnose heart conditions. Your doctor may recommend an exercise stress test as part of your Rehabilitation Therapy or to monitor your heart after a heart attack or heart surgery.

What to expect from a cardiac stress test at Goshen Heart & Vascular Center

A trained specialist will perform your test by placing electrodes on your chest that will record your heart’s performance. Then, you will walk on a treadmill or pedal on a stationary bike as your heart’s rate and rhythm, blood pressure and level of fatigue are recorded.

The entire procedure, along with preparing for the test and monitoring afterward, takes about one hour to complete. If you experience chest pain or other discomfort, let your technician know. You can always stop the test if it becomes painful or too difficult.

A treadmill stress test can bring you one step closer to receiving the personalized care you need for your heart condition. Talk to your doctor about receiving care at Goshen Heart & Vascular Center or call (574) 537-5000 for a referral.
