Goshen Health launched a collaborative project last fall to increase physical activity in local parks. By scanning a QR code located on signs near benches, the Park Bench Fitness program gives community members access to free exercise videos in English and Spanish that give participants an opportunity to get a full body workout using nothing more than a simple park bench.
On average, children spend five to seven hours a day on entertainment media, including televisions, computers, phones and other electronic devices. That’s up to 49 hours a week! Too much screen time can raise your child’s risk for developmental delays, learning and attention problems, anxiety, depression and other health issues.
Goshen Health is conducting a community health needs assessment this spring. Through surveys, focus groups, and conversations involving community members, the current health needs of the community will be identified and response strategies developed.
