Goshen Center for Cancer Care Joins Community in Powerful Relay for Life 2025 Event

On Saturday, June 14th, 2025 team members from Goshen Center for Cancer Care gathered at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds to take part in Relay for Life Michiana—an inspiring event hosted by the American Cancer Society to celebrate survivors, support caregivers and raise critical funds for cancer research and patient support.
As the presenting sponsor of the 2025 event, Goshen Center for Cancer Care proudly led the charge in honoring those affected by cancer. From walking the track in solidarity to connecting with attendees at the Goshen Health tent, the team’s presence was a true reflection of its commitment to healing that reaches far beyond clinical treatment.
“Our mission goes far beyond treatment,” said Ashley Ladig, nurse manager at Goshen Center for Cancer Care. “Relay for Life brings us together to honor every person who has been touched by cancer. It’s about community, compassion and hope—and that’s what we stand for every single day.”
That mission was on full display throughout the event. Goshen Center for Cancer Care is known for its whole-person approach to cancer treatment, providing a full spectrum of care including radiation therapy, medical oncology, nutrition services and mind-body counseling. This integrated model of care also shows in the way team members step up to support community efforts like Relay for Life.
For Ladig, who is also a cancer survivor, the event held a deeply personal meaning.
“I know firsthand what it’s like to hear the words, ‘You have cancer.’ I’ve walked that road and I’ve sat in that infusion chair,” she shared. “Now, I have the privilege of caring for others on their journey. Being part of Relay for Life is incredibly personal for me—and it’s a beautiful reminder that none of us are in this fight alone.”
Relay for Life continues to serve as a powerful symbol of hope, healing, and resilience—values that are woven into the fabric of Goshen Center for Cancer Care.
“As a team, we’re here to lift up our patients, walk beside them, and celebrate their strength,” said Ladig. “Events like this reaffirm our purpose and why we do what we do.”
