Goshen Health will host its second annual “Cinco de Mako” event on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Goshen Hospital. This free event highlights advancements in robotic-assisted joint replacement. It also celebrates a major milestone for Goshen Orthopedics, with 550 procedures completed using Stryker’s Mako SmartRobotics™ technology.

Last year’s inaugural event drew more than 100 community members, reflecting strong local interest in innovative joint care solutions.

This year, orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Christopher Owens and Dr. Bryan Boyer, will share insights on how robotic-assisted surgery enables more precise implant placement, smaller incisions‑ and personalized surgical plans. The technology is designed to support smoother recovery and less pain for patients as they return to their daily activities.

“We’re excited to celebrate the completion of 550 Mako procedures and to continue providing our community with access to advanced, patient-focused‑ joint care,” Dr. Owens, Medical Director of Goshen Orthopedics said. “Events like this give people a chance to learn about their options in a no-pressure, welcoming setting.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with the surgeons, ask questions and learn whether robotic arm-assisted joint replacement may be right for them. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
