Goshen Heart & Vascular Center recognized among nation’s top hospitals for heart attack care

Goshen Heart & Vascular Center has received the American College of Cardiology’s 2026 Chest Pain-MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award, recognizing its commitment to excellence in heart attack care. Goshen Hospital is one of only 350 hospitals nationwide to earn this honor.

The award recognizes Goshen Heart & Vascular Center's commitment to delivering high-quality care for heart attack patients and reflects the center's success in meeting rigorous standards established by the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.

To receive the Chest Pain-MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award, Goshen Heart & Vascular Center demonstrated sustained achievement in the Chest Pain-MI Registry for the 15th consecutive year and performed at the highest level for specific performance measures. Full participation in the registry engages hospitals in a robust quality improvement process using data to drive improvements in adherence to guideline recommendations and overall quality of care provided to heart attack patients.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 800,000 Americans experience a heart attack each year. A heart attack occurs when a blood clot in a coronary artery partially or completely blocks blood flow to the heart muscle. Treatment guidelines include administering aspirin upon arrival and discharge, timely restoration of blood flow to the blocked artery, smoking cessation counseling and cardiac rehabilitation, among others.
