Goshen Heart & Vascular Center donates heart rate monitors to Northridge Middle School
Goshen Heart & Vascular Center recently donated heart rate monitors to Northridge Middle School, supporting physical education classes and promoting lifelong heart health. The monitors will be shared among four PE classes, reaching approximately 900 students throughout the school year.
The donation provides students with an easy-to-use tool that encourages physical activity and helps them understand how to monitor and manage their own heart health.
“These monitors will help us spread our message about the importance of life-long health and wellness,” said Aimee Starcher, Physical Education Teacher at Northridge Middle School. “Teaching students to use and understand how to monitor and manage their own physical activity is going to build on their foundation for a lifetime of healthy habits. Thanks to this generous donation, our students will have this tool to help engage in activity that is not only fun but now adds that layer of growth and understanding. It allows us to shift the dynamic from competition to self-improvement and personal growth.”
“Partnering with Northridge Middle School on this initiative is an investment in the health of our community,” said Roland Helmuth, Administrative Director at Goshen Heart & Vascular Center. “By giving students the ability to track their heart rate and see the impact of physical activity, we’re empowering them to make informed choices about their health, choices that can last a lifetime.”
Representatives present for the donation included Roland Helmuth and Rebecca Showalter from Goshen Heart & Vascular Center, along with Aimee Starcher and Principal Kristyn Martin from Northridge Middle School.
Goshen Heart & Vascular Center is proud to support programs that encourage healthy habits and provide innovative tools for education and wellness.
